January 17 - January 29
A feast of grief, fags and finger food.
In the wake of a wake one platter remains, three hors d'eouvres remember - The Pineapple Sorrows. An asparagus roll, a cocktail sausage and a devilled egg. The lover: a white bread crust and a pickled heart, nursing the secret bruises of a raw new love. The best friend: teetering on the edge of the table with an itch that she just cant scratch. The mother: her once creamy centre now curdled with a bitterness that sugar cannot cut. All three deal with the untimely loss of Pineapple - the centrepiece of their plate bound lives.
A visual spectacle of song and dance, garnished with fresh live music. The Pineapple Sorrows is an absurd, tragicomic work exploring the lives of those left behind, brought to you by new Melbourne theatre company, crossditch.
